Introducing postdoc Floor van der Does
Floor van der Does started her postdoctoral research at Tilburg University in July 2026. As part of the Mind-Body team, she is conducting a Single Case Experimental Design study focused on network-informed care for patients experiencing psychological distress in the context of cancer.

Floor earned her Research Master's degree in Social & Health Psychology from Utrecht University, which culminated in a research internship with Prof. Dr. Richard McNally's lab at Harvard University. She also holds a BA in Social Sciences from University College Utrecht, with minors in Neuroscience and Art History.
Previously, Floor completed her PhD at the Psychiatry Department of the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Eric Vermetten. Her doctoral research applied similar network models to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms within a cohort of Japan Self-Defense Force personnel deployed in response to the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. In 2023, she completed a research fellowship at the National Defense Medical College in Tokorozawa, Japan, working with Prof. Masanori Nagamine's research group. Before her PhD, she coordinated a multi-center clinical trial at LUMC investigating the effects of psilocybin on treatment-resistant depression. Psychedelic science remains a core interest.
Her current project, led by Tom Smeets and Marije van der Lee, is a collaboration with the Helen Dowling Institute.
