Introducing PhD candidate Sebastian Krebs
Sebastian Krebs started as a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam in September 2026. As part of the Emotional Memory team, he will investigate the nature of psychotherapeutic mechanisms within the symptom network.
During his bachelor's and research master's at the University of Amsterdam, Sebastian specialized in clinical psychology and psychological methods, developing a strong interest in the theoretical and formal foundations of the network approach. Under the supervision of Marie Deserno, he began formalising treatment within Major Depressive Disorder symptom networks based on Dutch treatment manuals. Within his PhD project, he will continue developing these theoretical formalisations and test them in practice. He will be supervised by Marie Deserno, Tessa Blanken, Renée Visser, and Merel Kindt.
