Marlene Keil

Marlene completed both her bachelor's degree in Psychology and her research master's degree, with a specialisation in Clinical Psychology, at the University of Groningen. During her master's she worked as a research assistant on various projects, such as the setup of an ESM study investigating eating disorder symptoms, meaning in life, and negative affect. Her master thesis investigated whether imaginal exposure to self-disgust-focused memories reduces self-disgust, specifically focusing on the effect of providing a treatment rationale.

Marlene's PhD project focuses on identifying and targeting bridge symptoms between eating disorders and anxiety disorders. She aims to conduct a SCED exposure intervention comparing the effect of targeting network-informed exposure targets with targeting diagnosis-centered targets. Her supervisors are Ghislaine Schyns, Lotte Lemmens, Anita Jansen, and Ria Hoekstra.
