Introducing PhD candidate Marcell Völler
Marcell Völler started his PhD in November 2025 at Maastricht University as part of the Disordered Desires team. His research focuses on testing if network-informed treatment can benefit clinical populations with complex eating disorders. This will be tested using single-case experimental designs.

Marcell finished his bachelor's and research master's in Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. During his master's, he explored the topics of multilevel analysis, eating disorders, and longitudinal network analyses in various student projects. His thesis focused on simulating data from the first computational model on suicidal thoughts and analyzing whether a cusp catastrophe could be inferred from the data.
Marcell's interest in complex clinical and methodological problems led him to Maastricht. Using single-case experimental designs, he will test the effectiveness of network-informed treatment in individuals with complex eating disorders. Throughout the process, he will be supervised by Anita Jansen and collaborate with other members of the consortium.
