Introducing PhD candidate Juno Borsje
Juno Borsje started her PhD at Maastricht University in October 2026. She has joined the Transdiagnostic Anxiety team and will be exploring the role of self-esteem variability in the development and maintenance of psychopathology using EMA data and network analysis.

Juno recently obtained her research master's in Clinical and Health Psychology at Leiden University. For her thesis, she investigated missing data imputation techniques for EMA data. During her master's, she discovered that she really enjoys learning about statistical methods and working with large network models. This is when her supervisor told her about NSMD and that she might like to look into starting a PhD.
Outside of her studies, Juno has worked a lot with adolescents and young adults in mental health care, which has motivated her to pursue a research career and contribute to improving mental health care.
Juno is excited to combine both her interest in statistics and her passion for advancing mental health care, and to get to know many more researchers with the same interests as her.
