Introducing fellow Marije van der Lee

Marije van der Lee holds an endowed chair in Psycho-Oncology at the department of Medical and Clinical Psychology at Tilburg University. She also works as a healthcare psychologist and head of the scientific research department at the Helen Dowling Institute, a top clinical setting for specific cancer-related mental health problems. Her research focuses on fear of cancer recurrence and chronic cancer-related fatigue and its (online) interventions. She aims at personalizing clinical psycho-oncological interventions and making them available for all cancer patients at risk for developing complex mental health disorders.
Marije is also involved in the education of healthcare workers worldwide in basic cognitive behavioral therapy for specific psycho-oncological problems and recognizing cancer patients at risk. She was chair of the Special Interest group 'Fear of Cancer Recurrence' of the International Psycho-Oncology Society and participates in the scientific committee for the IPOS congress. As board member of the VGCt, she is a representative in the European Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy.
Marije joined NSMD as a fellow because of her participation in the FOCUS project.
